NAD+

Tru Niagen® contains nicotinamide riboside chloride, which contributes to the formation of NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide). NAD+ is a coenzyme found in all human cells that we cannot live without. It is required, among other things, for the functioning of mitochondria. Tru Niagen contributes to energy production in the body, maintaining normal mucous membranes, and also maintaining normal skin. Tru Niagen also helps reduce fatigue and exhaustion and supports the normal function of the nervous system. Research shows that two weeks of Tru Niagen intake increases NAD+ levels in the body by 51%.

NAD+ is needed to convert what we eat into energy, and it also contributes to the formation of various proteins that, in turn, contribute to cell repair. Unfortunately, the body's production of NAD+ decreases by 50% between the ages of 40 and 60, which leads to impaired cell function and aging. This means that we age. We are no younger than the health of our cells, the health of our mitochondria, and the health of our gut flora. NAD+ is one of the most important molecules currently being researched to counteract aging and contribute to health. The body also uses NAD+ to counteract oxidative stress and free radicals. Animals given NAD+ show cell rejuvenation and cell repair in the animals.

NAD+, NMN & Vitamin B3

Another precursor to NAD+ is NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide), but NMN does not increase NAD+ to the same extent as Tru Niagen, and currently, Tru Niagen is the safest supplement to increase NAD+ in the body's cells.

Tru Niagen stimulates much more and more effective formation of NAD+ than both vitamin B3 in the form of niacin and vitamin B3 in the form of niacinamide. Vitamin B3 is needed for other functions in the body, but when it comes to the formation of NAD+, there is nothing better than Tru Niagen with nicotinamide riboside chloride. Niacin is converted to niacinamide. High doses of vitamin B3 in the form of niacin can cause a so-called flush where the skin becomes flushed. However, this does not happen with niacinamide or Tru Niagen.

Tru Niagen NAD+ is NSF Certified for Sport®, which means it is approved by The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. Certified for Sport® certification is the only independent third-party certification program recognized by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, and Canadian Football League. Certified for Sport® is also recommended by the NFL, NBA, PGA, LPGA, CCES, CPSDA, iNADO, Ironman, NASCAR, Taylor Hooton Foundation, and many other organizations that want to avoid contaminated supplements.

Should I take Tru Niagen NAD+ in connection with training?

We always recommend taking all forms of supplements at least 2 hours away from the training session so that antioxidants do not prevent natural ROS production. ROS (Reactive oxygen species) are reactive oxygen compounds, that is, free radicals, which in large quantities seriously damage cells but in small amounts are important for muscle fiber repair. Damage to muscle cell membranes that occurs during training drives calcium into the cell. Calcium is absorbed by the mitochondria in the cell, which in turn triggers increased ROS production. ROS promotes the formation of protective actin fibers around the cell membrane damage that occurs during training. Preventing ROS from increasing during the training session limits the ability of isolated muscle fibers to repair cell membrane damage and also limits power production. Therefore, one should wait at least two hours from the training session until taking their supplements, including Tru Niagen.

Can I take Tru Niagen NAD+ with other supplements?

You can take Tru Niagen NAD+ with other supplements. It is not known to interact with other ingredients or products negatively.
